“Thoroughly Enjoyable Experience”
We stayed for four nights during a mid week break and it was superb. The staff are friendly. The atmosphere relaxed and so quiet, with the only sound the chatter of the varied bird life. It is a bit like going back in time to an age where things moved slower and it is an ideal getaway spot.
We crossed the Breede River on the pontoon and spent a day in Witsand which was thoroughly enjoyable. The locals are so friendly. We also spent a day kayaking up the Breede River after a hearty breakfast overlooking the river. We never got to go to De Hoop Nature Reserve but that is maybe something to do next time.
I would definitely go back again to this beautiful place. Highly recommend this hotel especially for busy people like me who needed a break to unwind from the service industry.

“Fantastic Value for money Weekend Breakaway”
The Malagas Hotel is set on the Breederiver with the most beautiful views. The room was neat and totally adequate, as it is only for sleeping. The food was a delightful experience and the service very good. Good homestyle cooking by professionals. Breakfast filled us up for the whole day. All-in-all a wonderful experience at an affordable
price. Well done to the management and staff!

“Blissful peace and quiet”
A friend and I visited Malagas Hotel for a mid-week breakaway, and we were thoroughly impressed! As pensioners, we enjoy tranquility and being surrounded by nature, and the hotel provided the perfect setting for this. The building blends in seamlessly with its natural surroundings, allowing guests to enjoy nature in a comfortable yet unspoilt way.
The staff were exceptionally helpful, supportive, and friendly – we couldn’t have asked for better service!
We would highly recommend a visit if you are looking for tranquility, peace, and quiet, along with great customer service!

“Peace and Tranquility”
We took a chance based on internet pictures and chose Malagas as our stopover point on a trip to the Cape. Although part of the journey was on a (well maintained) dust road, the scenery was unique to this area of our country and we took many photos along the way. The resort itself was an absolute haven, a break in itself. Friendly old-world service, the accommodation itself spotless, and the views of the Breede River from the deck are unmatched. Highly recommended for a get away..

My husband booked us in at the Hotel on 14 December 2013 for our 40th wedding anniversary. We spent years at Lemoenboord during December but have not been back for 20 years.
A friend told us about the hotel which we did not even know was built, so we booked and truly no regrets. We arrived, taken to our room by the friendly lovely manageress. On the bed was a bottle of champagne, soaps and key holder. Our dinner table was beautifully decorated with fresh rose leaves from the hotel garden as well as a vase of roses on the table. The staff really went the extra mile to make it special for us. We enjoyed the food a lot, compliments to the cook. The lunch outside at the terrace was divine in the tranquil environment with the old friendly dog that lives at the hotel to accompany us. So homely.
Thank you all for the effort to all of making us feel welcome. You are all lovely, friendly, helpful people and a true asset to the business.

This proved to be a value for money establishment which provided a tranquil stay in a scenic setting. This is a typical country hotel which did not disappoint and I suspect that off-season would be the best time to visit to benefit from this stress-free environment.
